Travel North across Auckland's Harbour Bridge and arrive at Matakohe and the fascinating Kauri Museum. This award-winning museum pays tribute to the early pioneers and their use of the Kauri gum. Continue to the Waipoua Forest and meet your Maori guide for a Footprints in the Forest tour. You will meet the 2000 yr old Tane Mahuta, said to be the largest Kauri gum in New Zealand. Travel north to the Opononi Pub and meet the locals for a drink (first drink on us!) before arriving at your waterfront hotel.
