A unique way to view the heart of Christchurch City. Cost is $15 and tickets are valid for two days.

3: Punting on the Avon River
Sit back and indulge in the tranquility and beauty of the Avon River!  Sink into the velvet cushions of your boat as the Edwardian punter gently glides you along the river during your 30 minute tour through your choice of two locations, City or Park. From the Park landing site, pass the trailing willows and leafy banks of the stunning Christchurch Botanic Gardens. The City landing site takes you on a peaceful journey through the central city, gliding beneath weeping willows and alongside historic buildings. Cost is $20 per person and bookings essential.

Canterbury Museum is in the heart of Christchurch City, within strolling distance of the Botanic Gardens, The Christchurch Arts Centre, Christchurch Art Gallery and Cathedral Square. General Admission is free.

5: Christchurch Art Centre
The Arts Centre of Christchurch is a vibrant and exciting venue for a huge range of New Zealand made art and crafts, shopping, education and entertainment. There truly is something for everyone, with highlights including over 40 specialty shops, fine art galleries, world-class theatre, art house cinemas, bars, restaurants and cafes, a bustling weekend Art, Craft & Produce Market and an array of festivals and special events throughout the year. Once the site of the University of Canterbury, these distinctive Gothic Revival buildings are today a maze of fun, wonder and delight and form part of our award-winning tourism attraction. General entry is free.

6: Christchurch Art Gallery
Christchurch Art Gallery "Te Puna o Waiwhetu" opened on 10 May, 2003 in the heart of the city's cultural precinct, bounded by Worcester Boulevard, Gloucester and Montreal Streets. The new $47.5 million facility features two floors of exhibition space, two educational activity areas, an auditorium, a café and wine bar, two retail outlets, a Sculpture Garden and underground parking. General entry is free.

7: Christchurch Botanic Gardens
The Christchurch Botanic Gardens inspires and educates visitors by showcasing flora and fauna of New Zealand and other parts of the world. Founded in 1863 with the planting of an English Oak tree, the Gardens now features one of the finest collections of exotic and native plants found in New Zealand. Towering majestic trees - many over 120 years old - dominate the Gardens, forming a striking backdrop to the extensive themed plant collections and sweeping lawns. A loop of the gently-flowing Avon River, criss-crossed by bridges, encloses a large part of the Gardens while the adjacent 164 hectare Hagley Park enhances its natural splendour. The Gardens is an oasis in the city of Christchurch - 21 hectares of beautiful horticultural displays, several conservatories, memorials, garden art and walking tracks, open every day of the year and admission is free!
